OUR STORY

The Nest That Builds From Within.

Born in Cambodia. Nurtured by science. NIS NEST was founded on a single conviction: that the most powerful medicine comes not from a laboratory, but from nature — verified by one.

THE ORIGIN

A Family Legacy, Scientifically Refined.

NIS NEST traces its origins to the swift colonies of Cambodia's coastal provinces — land that Ms. Mey Sang's family has stewarded for generations. For decades, the family harvested and prepared edible bird's nest in the traditional way, revering it as a gift passed down through ceremony and care.

The transformation began when co-founder Sammie Choong — a product strategist with a background in precision nutrition — encountered the nest not as a cultural artifact, but as a scientific subject. Clinical literature documented remarkable concentrations of Sialic Acid, N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac), and EGF — compounds with verified roles in neural development, cellular repair, and immunomodulation.

Together, they set out to build something that had never existed: a bird's nest brand that fused the integrity of a century-old family harvest with the rigour of modern food science. NIS NEST was incorporated as Khmer Hiquality Birdnest Co., Ltd in Phnom Penh, with certification by GMP, HACCP, and Halal standards from day one.

"We did not want to sell a tradition. We wanted to prove it."

What the Nest Actually Does

psychology

Sialic Acid & Cognition

N-Acetylneuraminic Acid (Neu5Ac)

Sialic acid is a critical component of gangliosides and glycoproteins in brain tissue. Dietary Sialic Acid from edible bird's nest has been documented in peer-reviewed studies to increase brain Sialic Acid levels, supporting synaptic formation, memory consolidation, and neural plasticity — particularly significant in early development and cognitive ageing.

EGF & Skin Renewal

Epidermal Growth Factor

Edible bird's nest contains verifiable concentrations of Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) — the same compound used in clinical wound healing and dermatological protocols. Oral EGF from bird's nest has shown statistically significant increases in dermal collagen density and elastin production in double-blind human trials, producing measurable skin rejuvenation from the inside out.

Immunity Modulation

Glycopeptide Bioactives

The glycoprotein matrix of bird's nest contains multiple immunomodulatory compounds. Research demonstrates its capacity to promote the proliferation of T-lymphocytes, enhance the activity of natural killer cells, and modulate the inflammatory cytokine cascade — providing systemic immune calibration rather than blunt stimulation.

Respiratory Integrity

Mucosal Glycoprotein Support

Traditional use of bird's nest for respiratory health finds biological validation in its mucosal glycoprotein content. These compounds support the structural integrity of respiratory epithelium, reduce oxidative damage in lung tissue, and have demonstrated therapeutic potential in clinical models of respiratory inflammation and recovery post-viral illness.

PROCESS

From Colony to Formula

01 / Harvest

Free-Range Swift Colonies

Our nests are harvested exclusively from registered free-range swift houses in Kampot, Cambodia and Perak, Malaysia. Swifts are never disturbed during nesting season. Harvest occurs only after chicks have fledged — a practice that ensures colony sustainability.

02 / Processing

Cold-Process Cleaning

Within 24 hours of harvest, each nest is hand-cleaned using filtered water and cold-process techniques to remove feathers and impurities without applying heat — preserving the molecular integrity of the glycoprotein matrix that makes bird's nest nutritionally exceptional.

03 / Formulation

Precision Concentration

Each formula grade is produced in our GMP-certified facility using a proprietary low-temperature concentration method. Every batch is independently tested for Sialic Acid content, EGF activity, microbial load, and heavy metals before it is approved for packaging.

04 / Certification

Multi-Standard Compliance

NIS NEST products are certified under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), and Halal standards. Batch records are maintained for full traceability from colony to consumer.
